Located in picturesque Leysin, facing the panorama of the Southern Alps, LAS has both a strong academic ethos and an inspirational setting! The school combines an American educational philosophy with the rigor of a European educational system. We offer the International Baccalaureate diploma, a comprehensive US university preparatory curriculum and for non-native English speakers an integrated English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) program. Students enjoy an extra-curricular program which features exciting recreational activities, extensive cultural travel and fine art courses. LAS believes in strong relationships between parents, students and ourselves and utilizes internet-based systems which make detailed academic and non-academic information accessible to parents. Our boarding community provides a stable, caring and supportive family-like environment with Faculty members who live in the dormitories. We believe in student-centered education, where close relationships lead to each student achieving his or her potential. At LAS we strive to provide the best environment in which our students can excel. We have three full time professional college counselors who are there to assist our students. In addition we offer professional SAT and TOEFL Preparatory Courses at our campus. 100% of our graduates continue education at colleges and universities. 68% of our graduates have enrolled in the top 100 universities (Barron’s Guide). LAS also offer summer camps called Summer in Switzerland (SIS) which is an educational and recreational program for young people ages eight to nineteen.

LAS students enjoy a healthy lifestyle by participating in sports and activities that are engaging, challenging and perhaps completely new. LAS sports teams compete against other schools in the region, supported by coaches who work to improve student competency, as well as enjoyment of sports. In keeping with the LAS approach of providing a balanced lifestyle, students are encouraged to be involved in a range of other activities including the arts, music, and theater, where they can express themselves individually or as part of a group.
