The fundamentals of a good education do not change. Of course some components should and do. At the British School of Paris we remain committed to encouraging our pupils to do and give of their best; to discover what it is they are good at and not so good at; and to learn how to value the contributions of others whilst allowing their own to be appropriately valued too. These were the values that our founder Mary Cosyns instilled in the schoolÍs first cohort of pupils over sixty years ago. Today, with over 750 pupils on the roll, representing well over 50 nationalities, we are one of the largest and longest-established British international schools in the world and still uphold Mrs CosynsÍ high ideals and huge ambition for the young people in our charge. Our educational programme is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales coupled with a strong pastoral system, an approach to education which is unique in France. We are a high-achieving school with tailored provision offering educational support for the most able and for those who have specific learning needs. All children are encouraged to aim high and consistently the vast majority of our leavers gain places at their first choice universities throughout the world. The British School of Paris is located in the western suburbs of Paris in the small market town of Croissy-sur-Seine, an idyllic spot on the banks of the Seine, a mere brush-stroke away from where Monet and Renoir found inspiration to create the canvasses that launched the Impressionist movement. Paris, the worldÍs leading tourism destination, is home to no less than four UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is consistently ranked as one of the top 20 cities in the world to live by the renowned Mercer International Quality of Living Survey. The curriculum makes full use of our proximity to the city and the Ile de France region with regular trips to the world-famous art galleries and museums on our doorstep to enhance classroom study. The Junior and Senior School campuses, adjacent to each other on the river bank, include a nineteenth century manor house, indoor sports hall, all-weather pitch, dedicated and well-equipped science laboratories and purpose-built Junior School, which was opened in 2010. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and we were the first school in France, from 2012, to issue all pupils from Reception Year to university-bound Year 13 with iPad digital tablets to enhance learning across the curriculum.
